A great way to start the week before the Quantum Meets program continues in Amsterdam.

The Quantum Internet Alliance, bringing together world-leading experts from academia, industry, and research organizations, is pushing the boundaries of quantum network technology by developing the ability to connect quantum devices over long distances, enabling them to share quantum information and entanglement - key building blocks for a general-purpose quantum internet. As the opening event of Quantum Meets ‘25, QIA Conference Day brings together world-class researchers, industry pioneers, and policymakers to explore the latest advancements in quantum networking.

The conference opens by addressing fundamental questions: Why do we need a quantum internet? What unique capabilities will it unlock? From enhanced medical data privacy, ultra-secure financial transactions to enhancements of network infrastructures, the sessions will showcase the potential practical benefits driving quantum internet development. These discussions set the stage for understanding how quantum communication can address real-world challenges across industries.

Why Do We Need a Quantum Internet?

Building on this foundation, the event showcases QIA&#039;s progress in transforming these promising applications from laboratory concepts to practical implementations. As leaders in developing and integrating scalable end-node solutions and quantum repeater technologies, QIA demonstrates how breakthrough research achievements are being engineered towards prototype systems and protocol development.
